PupGear® began business in 1998 selling doggydocks® a self–adjusting floating dog boat ramp.
This was the first product to address the need for getting dogs out of the water from a boat dock,
boat or swimming pool.
In 2004, we invented Pup-Head® the first portable indoor dog potty. At the time, our target market
was boaters that took their dogs on boating adventures. Soon we were selling them to people living in
apartments and high-rise buildings.
Because we designed a product that dogs would use automatically, word spread like wildfire and the
product was sold through SkyMall, alongside leading catalog companies and specialty pet retailers.
Realizing that the need for our product was bigger than we imagined, we began developing Pup-Grass®
Synthetic Grass Built for Dogs. Pup-Grass® is a revolutionary artificial turf that has antimicrobials
and drains 50x faster than conventional fake grass. Soon after, we in-troduced Pup-Zymes® Stain and Odor
Eliminator, Pup-Fresh® Odor Control Granules and Pup-Pads® Disposable Absorbent Pads.
Other great products by PupGear® include Paw Pads® Non-Slip Traction Pads and The Ball-Stopper®
Toy Blocker and Furniture Protector.

doggydocks® Story
In 1996, my dream of owning a lakeside home came true. On a sweltering July day, I grabbed my
three Shelties and headed for the dock, eager for a swim.
While my puppy, Tully, took to the water with ease, my other two dogs, Annie and Reese, panicked when they unexpectedly fell in. With no easy way
for them to get back on the dock, I scrambled to pull them out—realizing how dangerous this could be if
I were not around.
Determined to find a solution, I searched pet and marine stores, only to discover that no
product existed to help dogs safely exit the water. So, I designed my own—a modified ramp that gave
dogs a way out. Soon, neighbors’ dogs were using it, and even boaters stopped by to watch the fun.
What started as a personal project became a passion, and eventually, doggydocks® was born.
Years later, I was asked why I created doggydocks®, and it hit me—I was healing from the loss of
my dog, who had drowned in a friend’s pool decades earlier. That tragedy fueled my mission: to keep
dogs safe around water.
Today, doggydocks® has prevented countless accidents, giving dogs a safe way out—and a fun
way to play.
What began as a necessity for me, became an interactive toy for water-loving pups
everywhere!
